Goodbye Summer, Autumn here we come! Not a huge update for you this month as, due to the general holiday period across Europe throughout August, we haven’t had a great deal of shipments coming in. However, what we did get was exquisite enough that you will be glad you took the time to read this, that’s for sure!
Where better to start than with the Calacatta Borghini? Makes proper alphabetical sense at least… This is a fantastic looking, classic Calacatta marble, with strong grey veining on a majority white background. Mixed in here is also subtle hues of amber, not enough to overpower the surface but enough that you get a nice mix of tones.
The next stone is a very similar material, the Calacatta Brown (San Simone). Another marble with strong veining only this time with more frequency and intensity than the Borghini. The brown colouring is something a bit different and works nicely against the white, with fine sandy waves in between.
The Rosa Portugal, also known as Rosa Aurora, is a pastel pink marble with dark veining. In this block the colours take more of an equal share of the surface and that results in a slightly more bolder block than other variations of this material give you.
White Evora is a soft white, with hazy blues and greys mixed in, along with a touch of brown for good measure. It really comes to life when backlit but here you can appreciate the delicate tones that are a part of this marble. Two blocks of this came in this month, so you’re getting a 2 for 1 scenario in terms of images. Never say we don’t give you anything in these updates!
Don’t forget to read our latest post in the Stone Focus series, featuring the amazing Forest Green, Forest Brown and Forest Gold marble. Trust me, you could make something truly beautiful with these natural masterpieces.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all at MGLW.
