Get ready for another injection of sublime stone surfaces. This week we are looking at two marbles, along with another fantastic quartzite. The two stylish marble surfaces here are very different from each other but equally exquisite, with the quartzite being a surface unique to MGLW, something you won’t find elsewhere in the UK at this time.
A beautiful, white marble from the U.S., Calacatta Lincoln has fantastic character, with a perfect pattern for forming impressive book-match designs.
Against the white background, dark, erratic veins are effectively pronounced, with a cloudier white surrounding more heavily patterned areas.
Being a marble, this surface is fairly versatile, with bathrooms and flooring being common uses. Marble is not as highly recommended for kitchen worktops, without being sealed and properly maintained, due to the number of acidic substances that it may come into contact with.
At the time of writing we have stock of this surface in a 20mm thickness. Contact us for more details.
Ruivina is a Portuguese stone, with elegant blue and grey tones. Darker areas of veining give this marble a sense of depth in the pattern and contrast well with lighter areas in the background.
As explained in previous editions, blue is less commonly found in natural stone and so when you come across an attractive blue stone, such as this, it is even more impressive.
Ruivina marble actually comes in a darker variety, in addition to this lighter version.
We hold 20mm stock of this marble at the time of writing, so if you are interested in hearing more, do get in touch.
Our slabs of Donatello, a Brazilian quartzite, are part of a unique collection at MGLW, that include the Rafaello and Botero. All very similar and all named after artists. A grey stone, with specs of white and thin, dark veining, the similarities to the other stones mentioned are clear.
Donatello is a very hard stone and as such is well suited for use as kitchen worktops, as well as a number of other surfaces, including walls and floors.
At the time of writing, we have stock of Rafaello in a 20mm as well as 30mm thickness. Simply click here or give us a call to hear more.
