We are coming closer to the start of the Summer here in the UK but there is still time to get those spring, home improvement projects off the ground! In this edition of the Stone Focus we hope we can provide some added inspiration, as we look at three fantastic marble surfaces, Grey Marquina, Nero Argento and Silver Galaxy.
Grey Marquina, also referred to as Pietra Grey, gives you that classic marble feel, with a sophisticated looking combination of bright white veining on a dark grey background.
This Iranian stone is perfect for decorative pieces such as table-tops and fireplaces, as well as being a great fit for flooring and walls.
In addition to slabs, we also do grey marquina tiles in a range of sizes, which can be found here.
These slabs are approx. 2.6m x 1.75m in a 2cm thickness.
The Nero Argento is a black stone from China, with a web of white veining.
We have two forms of this marble available at the time of writing, the cross-cut, which you can see above and a vein-cut variety. These differ in the way that the blocks get sliced, resulting in a different pattern on the face of the slab.
Also, a fantastic stone, the vein cut block displays more parallel looking lines of veins, running horizontally across. The varying thicknesses creating a great looking effect.
These blocks are approximately 2.6m x 1.6m in a 1.8cm thickness.
A Turkish marble, the Silver Galaxy is a grey stone containing varying intensities of colour, from very dark areas to very light.
A good choice for interior as well as exterior use, it has quite a busy pattern, as opposed to the large areas separating veining on both of the previous stones, the overall effect here is cloudier in nature.
This block is roughly 2.5m x 1.75m in a 20mm thickness.
