Taking a closer look at three more materials this week in Stone Focus, we have two marbles and a quartzite for you to admire. These are all stone surfaces that contain strong veining as part of their character and that truly stand out as a result.
You can also find out about the 18 new stone surfaces that arrived last month in our Materials Update, here.
Originating as sandstone and coming about as a result of huge pressurization, quartzites are often white or grey in colour. Any colour in them results from differing levels of iron oxide in the rock. The White Macauba is a prototypal example of a white quartzite, with dark grey veining. Parallel to these are shades of cream, which offset the white perfectly.
At the time of posting, we stock this stone in a 30mm thickness. Give us a call to find out more.
If you are looking for a beautiful, classic looking marble, not too busy but with enough going on to be distinct, the Grey Marquina is a great option. The dark grey stone here is a perfect contrast to striking white veining that courses its way across the surface. With a highly reflective, polished surface this marble looks stunning whether used as flooring, on walls or any other surface.

A sandy grey marble, the Didima Light is composed of varying shades, intersected by strong, dark veining. The horizontal patterning in this material is often very even, which makes it a perfect partner when designing and looks great in large quantities, such as when used as flooring.
The slabs of Didima Light in stock currently are in a 20mm thickness, please do contact us to find out more.
