So somehow, we have arrived at our June 2018 update. As time seems to keep ticking faster and faster, this is where we take a well-earned break to cover all the stone to have arrived throughout the last month.
We have had a real variety through the doors at MGLW over the last few weeks so it is a true delight to highlight some of these for you here, starting with the pair of onyx blocks that arrived in May.
The Crema Onyx and Cielo Onyx are fantastic looking surfaces, very different in their overall aesthetic but equally fantastic to behold. The soft, shimmer in the Crema Onyx is something that always catches the eye with this material and the Cielo looks simply stunning under any lighting.
Our Stone Focus feature also took a look at onyx in Excellent Onyx, here.
Along with these, the Traonyx is another fascinating arrival from last month. The stone is actually a travertine marble but with elements of Onyx present, which is literally where its name is derived from. A gorgeous combination of browns, it’s hard to think where this surface wouldn’t look amazing.
Interesting to note is that we have had two blocks of Nero Argento arrive, one crosscut and one veincut. The difference, as always, in the two are quite stark. You can see the very linear pattern of veining on the vein cut, whereas with the cross cut you get a fantastic webbing of veins. Either one is an excellent choice when it comes to black marble.
Others to have arrived are the Taj Mahal (also known as Madreperola), Silver Galaxy and Grey Marquina, all of which you can see below.
